Beating Monday Blues“Monday Blues” have become a common term in corporate life. For many, Mondays are the most depressing day of the week as the weekend is just gone and there is still time for the next to come.  It has been noticed that people who are suffering from low motivation are mostly the one suffering from Monday Blues. And this tendency increases after the festive seasons when the mounting bills add on to their seemingly endless worries. On the other hand, people who are happy at work are hardly affected by stress and can easily get over such temporary hitches as they are more resilient. Thus, it is not a particular day of the week that makes you miserable; it’s you. And you alone can change it, beat the Monday Blue and become happy and high performing at work.

Being happy at work is not all about having a permanently sunny mood or smiling all the time. It is having a mindset to maximize your performance to achieve your potential. So if you are thinking about negative stress you are only bringing it to you as it will drain you physically and the pressure from both work and home will only increase. Go deep within the problem and see what is causing it and then take some positive actions to change it. The following are some tips that will help you to beat Monday Blues and make you happy in your current job:

Stop Complaining: When you complain about people you dislike and all the difficulties and gripes you are facing, you are only focusing on them. This way you are creating a gap between you and your fellow workers and management. If this is not what you want and stop complaining right now. Instead, look what you have and still can achieve together and what you share as colleagues. This way you will build bridges instead of creating gaps.

Feel Better: Once you stop complaining focus on the details and on things that you can control and influence at your work. We often think that we need to change the job when things are just not going right. Though that can be an option, a better solution is to change the way you think and see things. Sometimes a few small tweaks at work can change a negative situation and help in your motivation and fulfillment.

Evaluate Your Motivation: This is an important step in order to ensure your success. You need to determine how willing you are to follow your pathway and do everything it takes to accomplish. Most of the time, people tend to give up on their motivation the moment they come across a set back and give in to the situation. To make sure you are not one of them, it is essential to evaluation you motivation.

Change What Needs to be Changed: Once know what you want and you are 100% sure about your motivation it is time for action. Identify the various ways that can help you achieve your goals. It is important that you identify more than one pathway as it will help you to try another if one pathway fails. Finally, do everything proactively that it takes to accomplish your goal and remain motivated all through.
