A Look at Connected Pages

So what exactly can you do with Connected Pages?  This amazing feature of Bing will not only help you learn about the search terms that are used by your users, but it will also bring information from other social media sites owned by you. All you have to do is claim your social content properties like Facebook page, Twitter profile, LinkedIn profile, app store pages, etc. in Bing Webmaster Tools. Once you have successfully claimed and connected them together in Connected Pages, you will get varied information. Apart from search terms, you will also know about inbound links and other varied data.

How to Connect a Page?

Now the question is how can you connect different pages? Here is a step-by-step guide to help you out.

  • Register in Bing Webmaster Tools if you do not have an account yet.

  • Go to Configure My Site segment and select Connected Pages from there.

  • For a given network, fill up the URL path for all the media networks that are related to your page.

  • Once you are done, click Verify.

If you fill up many networks all at once, it will take some time to get verified. However, in case of unsuccessful verification, a red message will come besides the Connected Pages URL section. You can understand that your verification is successful, if you don’t get any message. You will be able to see the data after that. For successful verification, you have to keep your site’s URL in all the social profiles that you want to connect. If you don’t see any data or any message, don’t get tensed.  Bing states, it may take around 72 hours to show data of each connected page.  The best thing is that it is one time affair. You don’t have to connect it again and again.
